Ridgeway Renovation
This beautiful 1980s ranch-style home needed a major interior renovation to meet the needs of the client's growing family and their love of entertaining. Our aim was to highlight the best features of the home—including a beautiful backyard with access to natural light—while modifying the layout to better meet the family’s needs. The previously cramped kitchen was opened up to the living room, allowing guests to move seamlessly between the two spaces. New windows and a sliding glass door in the kitchen open to a new covered eating area outside and bring light into the fully renovated kitchen. Large brick columns in the living room were removed, creating a more inviting entry. The existing utility room and kitchen area were restructured to include a large entry hallway with built-in cubbies, a large pantry, and a mudroom. These functional and sometimes messy areas of the home have easy access to the kitchen, but can be closed off when entertaining. These key changes improved the flow of the space and make it more functional for the family who calls it home.
